1. The General Setting
The General Setting is the most straightforward option where it will show the basic information about your site.
In the above two-section, you have to set your Site Title and Tagline. The Tagline is the line that explains your site. It’s important to customize your site Tagline with the proper keyword of what your site is all about. The second option is entering your site URL as followed-
WordPress Address is where your site is located and the site address is the URL that people will use to visit your site.
The next part is setting up the admin email address. Make sure you have entered the correct email address where you will receive important notifications about your site.
If you mark the membership to anyone who can register, it will allow the visitors to create an account on your site.
This will help you to set up your own membership site. When you will check this box, make sure the new user default role is set to Subscriber. This will allow the new members to have the basic permissions only.
The final step of the General Setting is self-explanatory:
You can select a default language and timezone for your website. Fix your date and time formats. You can also choose which date you wanna start your week.
2. The Writing Setting
You can choose the functions of your blog posts here.
You can select your default category for your blog post here. If you are writing on a single topic it will automatically save in that category. No worries! You can change your blog post category anytime you want.
Here you can set up for publishing blog posts via email. Maximum bloggers use this option to publish simple content urgently and don’t wanna log into the WordPress Dashboard.
In this section, you can enter the services list that you wanna notify whenever you publish a post. You can leave this field blank if you want. Or you use the links, we have used on FacileWay.
3. The Reading Setting
You can determine your post appearance in this section. This setting will allow you to set your homepage.
Your homepage is a list of the most recent blog posts that is useful for blogs and news sites. But it’s not perfect for an online store or business website.

Now you can customize many blog posts you wanna show on your blog page. You can determine whether your blog feed will display the full text or just a summary of each content.
You can also determine how the subscribers to your RSS feed will see your content here.
The most important thing in this section is keeping the “search engine visibility” option unchecked. If you check this option, Google will ignore your site and your site won’t be visible on Google.
Generally, the developers keep this option checked while they were developing the site and kept it private so that Google doesn’t index them. As a blogger, you should always keep this unchecked.
4. The Discussion Setting
This setting is all about discussion through the comment section. This is totally a self-explanatory option. You might be unfamiliar with the option “Allow link notification from other blogs that are (pingback and trackbacks) on the new article.
When someone is linked to your content, you will get a notification via pingback and the trackback is the way where the author lets you know s/he has written something that is relevant to your content.
You can also control spam commenting in this comment section. It also allows using the Comment Moderation field to enter a list of words and URLs that will automatically flat comments.

It doesn’t matter what kinda site you’re going to start. You will need to upload tons of files to your Media Library.
This option will help you to customize the size options for any images added to your media library.

6. The Permalinks Setting
Permalinks are the most important point you should keep an eye on. It has a vital impact on WordPress SEO.
You can use the permalinks setting as followed:
You have to make sure you have set up this permalink setting before publishing any article.
Because once you have published any content and it’s indexed by Google, You should not change the setting. If you change the permalink setting of a live site, your SEO will be harmed badly.
